ARTIST BIO

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Margaret has lived and worked in Providence, RI for the past several years. Her work is rooted in beauty — not as decoration, but as a way of seeing. After more than fifteen years in intimate portrait photography, her practice has turned toward the quiet and the fleeting: subtle shifts, small thresholds, the evidence of time passing.

Margaret’s photography looks at how spaces are felt rather than simply seen. Her work seeks to understand perception through movement, abstraction, and subtle shifts in form, allowing images to emerge between clarity and blur, presence and retreat.

Working with traditional photography, multiple exposures, and intentional camera movement (ICM), Margaret is drawn to moments that pass by us, sometimes without our noticing. Her images reflect a restrained sense of space and time, informed by an interest in interior experience—how we notice, what comes into focus, and what remains just out of view.
